About Susan

Hi there,

so a bit more about me; I grew up in my family’s pub in Kildare Town and gained my love of the trade washing glasses and stacking boxes.

I am currently studying for a PhD at The Technological University of Dublin Tallaght. My research looks at the significance of place and storytelling to contemporary Irish beverages. have a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies from Trinity College Dublin and I’m a University of California at Irvine scholarship recipient. I had the good fortune to study in sunny southern California where I fulfilled a Bay Watch -esque dream and worked as a lifeguard.

I continued my drama studies at the University of London Royal Holloway where I gained my MA in Performance Studies.

Meanwhile, I’ve been attending professional wine tastings for the past 15 years, and have studied up to advanced level with WSET (the wine and spirit education trust).

When I’m not performing “A Wine Goose Chase” I work as wine consultant, writer, arts project manager and arts facilitator.

My show has inspired a shop dedicated to wines with Irish roots in Terminal 1 at  Dublin Airport.

I’m passionate about wine, theatre, food and creating and sharing fantastic experiences! I am not passionate about 1/4 bts of wine (but I’m realising there is a time and a place for them… thank you Dublin Airport) or tidying my bedroom.
